LADYBUG FACTS

Ladybugs are beneficial insects that become a nuisance when they hibernate in homes. The BioCare Asian Ladybug Trap uses special-wavelength UV fluorescent light and a pheromone lure and attractant to attract Ladybugs indoors. The Ladybugs fall through the funnel and are trapped in the jar so you can safely dispose of them or release them outdoors.
ASIAN LADYBUG TRAP - EASY INSTRUCTIONS
Pour contents of Bug Booster lure into jar, fill jar 1/3 full with water and add a few drops of dish soap (if eliminating Ladybugs). Slide and lock a vane into the slots in the funnel. The slot in the center of the first vane should be up. Slide the second vane into the center slot of the first vane and lock it into the slots in the funnel. Open foil lure packet and slide round lure into one of the slots in a vane as per above photo. Do not touch lure with hands; use gloves or tweezers. Replace lures every 4 to 5 weeks. Using the enclosed double-sided Velcro patches, attach mini-light unit to vane with bulb facing out toward the room, the switch facing out, the AC/DC adapter plug facing down, and the ON/OFF switch out. Use 4 AA batteries if a plug is not accessible. Use charger for long-term uses. Constant light use is recommended.
LOCK VANE INTO FUNNEL SLOT LOCK IN SECOND VANE ATTACH LIGHTAND LURE
RECOMMENDED TRAP PLACEMENT: Place Trap 2-3 feet off floor in a dark location away from windows and where Ladybugs congregate. Keep drapes closed for best daytime results. Ladybugs can be attracted away from the trap by other light sources. If no results in trapping in one week, relocate trap to a new location by changing the height or location. Leave trap lit day and night. Caulk and screen entrances to home to prevent fall invasions of ladybugs. Use more traps for better results.

TO TRAP AND KEEP LADYBUGS ALIVE: (for release in your garden in spring) Place a moist paper towel in the bottom of the jar. Add fruit such as raisins or cut apple pieces. Place live Ladybugs in a mesh bag with fruit. Keep in a cool place until spring.

TO ELIMINATE LADYBUGS: Fill jar1/3 full with water and add a few drops of dish soap to drown Ladybugs. Wash and refill as necessary.

AC/DC POWER SUPPLY: Use only AC/DC Power supplies that are UL-Approved and have correct voltage, wattage and plug configuration. Use only 6.0V, 500 mA and a center-positive plug to power the lamp unit. Call our customer service number to order the correct Replacement Power Supply.

BATTERY OPERATION: (Batteries not included) Use 4 each alkaline-type AA batteries for long lamp life. Remove batteries when storing trap. See inside of battery cover for correct battery placement. Incorrect placement can damage the unit.

LAMP REPLACEMENT: Use only F4T5/BL Wide-Spectrum Black Light lamps in your Asian Lady Bug Trap. Normal fluorescent or Black Light Lamps will not work. Call our customer service number to order correct Replacement Lamps.

LURE REPLACEMENT: Use SpringStar Asian Ladybug Lures for best results. Replace every 4 to 5 weeks. You can purchase additional Asian Ladybug Lures from the company you purchased your trap from, or contact SpringStar.

DO NOT PLACE JAR IN DISHWASHER
OTHER HELPFUL HINTS:

- Make sure you place the trap away from where ladybugs congregate, which is usually a light source such as a window. The other side of the room is usually the best, or the darkest part of the room.

- Place the trap at least 2-3 feet off the ground.

- It can take up to 3 or 4 days for the ladybugs to feel comfortable enough to fly into the jar. If after 4 days your catches are low, relocate the trap.
